The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) have an Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) that designates Embry-Riddle as the operator of the Florida Test Bed. ERAU supports the Test Bed by operating the facility and by working with industry in support of FAA-assigned NextGen tasks.

To accomplish these tasks, Embry-Riddle establishes sub-contracts with companies in and out of the industry.

Below are tasks managed by Embry-Riddle and performed at the FTB by ERAU and/or companies that have been subcontracted by university staff at the facility in support of the goal.

Mini Global II Demonstration

Mini Global SWIM is an open communications infrastructure that allows Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs), airlines, and other stakeholders to exchange data using open standards. The Mini Global II project demonstrates the applicability of global exchange models through the exchange of Flight, Aeronautical and Weather information using the FIXM, AIXM, and iWXXM standards. Mini Global demonstrations seek to advance collaborative flight information exchanges using System Wide Information Management (SWIM) and established standards amongst operators and ANSPs worldwide to support the ultimate goal of seamless interoperability and international harmonization.
